The first five projects ranked in the Future of Automotive Design Competition (OGTY), which was held for the 10th time this year by the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB), were awarded by Messe Frankfurt Istanbul. The awards were presented to the project owners at the opening of the Automechanika Istanbul Plus Fair, which was held at TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center between 18-21 November with the cooperation of Messe Frankfurt Istanbul and Hannover Fairs Turkey and with the support of OIB. The awards were given by OIB Chairman Baran Celik, OIB Vice Chairman Orhan Sabuncu, Messe Frankfurt Istanbul Show Director Can Berki and Automechanika Istanbul Fair Director Alemdar Sönmez.

In line with the awards given by Messe Frankfurt Istanbul; Can Acar, the winner of the OİB Future of Automotive Design Competition, Ahmet Seçer the second and Bekir Bostancı, the third, had the opportunity to participate in the Automechanika Frankfurt 2022 fair, which will be held in Germany in partnership with Automechanika. Again, the owners of the top three projects, as well as Emre Demir, who came in fourth in the competition, and Serdar Sultanoğlu, who came in fifth, also had the opportunity to introduce their brands and projects by participating in the E-Mobility-Start-up section of the Automechanika Istanbul Plus Fair in TÜYAP.

Çelik: “Young talents will contribute to the Turkish economy with their projects”

Speaking at the award ceremony, OIB Chairman of the Board Baran Çelik thanked Messe Frankfurt Istanbul for the fair award they gave to the project owners who ranked in the OGTY, the largest R&D and innovation event in the automotive industry. Pointing out that digital and green transformation continues to shape the mobility industry, Baran Çelik said, “As OIB, we continue to work in order to be a part of the transformation and to increase Turkey's value-added production and therefore exports. When the necessary support is provided, young talents are ready and willing to implement projects that will contribute to the country's economy. We have been continuing our OGTY event for 10 years in order to be a part of this support. When we examine the projects that applied to the competition, we are happy to see that this process is understood correctly.”

Reminding that this year's theme of the competition, which they have been organizing since 2012 with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and the coordination of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, is Solutions in the Mobility Ecosystem, OIB Chairman of the Board Baran Çelik said, “The success you have achieved in this competition is a start for you and for us. All of us will contribute to the continuation of success. You will continue to develop your project by participating in the İTÜ Çekirdek incubation program and you will have the chance to show yourself again in events such as Big Bang Start-Up Challenge. In addition, our top five finalists will have the opportunity to promote their brands and projects by participating in the E-Mobility-Startup section of this fair. We will support you throughout this process and whenever you need it.”
