AMG-designed side skirts and AMG trunk spoiler stand out as other visual features. A new front grille comes into play on all versions. Mercedes-Benz pattern (three-dimensional star pattern with shiny chrome surface), glossy black trim with chrome insert and integrated Mercedes Star stand out as the features of this grille. Metallic spectral blue is offered as the new color option for the CLS.
There are innovations in the interior
In addition to the extremely flamboyant and assertive exterior, the interior was also renewed. Two new trim options are offered for the center console, light-grained brown walnut and gray ash wood. A steering wheel action is no longer required to notify driver assistance systems that the vehicle is under control. This increases ease of use in semi-autonomous driving.

Mercedes-AMG has updated the family's sporty top model with numerous visual highlights and attractive equipment packages. The integrated starter generator momentarily provides an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm of torque while feeding the 48-volt electrical system. It combines the starter motor and alternator in a single electric motor and is integrated between the engine and transmission. Electric Auxiliary Compressor (eZV) and turbocharger deliver typical AMG performance and driving dynamics while maintaining the same zamIt helps to reduce consumption and emissions at the same time. The extremely fast shifting AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission, the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system and the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension also contribute to the dynamic driving experience.
High performance for users with high expectations with Mercedes-AMG's Limited Edition model
Only 300 of the new Limited Edition version are planned to be produced. Customers can choose between matt cashmere white and designo selenite gray matt. Racing stripes are applied over the side skirts. These are applied in matte cashmere white body color and glossy metallic dark gray. In Designo matt selenite gray body color, the stripes are applied in glossy black. Both strips feature bright red accents.
20-inch 5-twin-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels, painted in matt black and with white rims, AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II are offered as standard. The CLS 2.0 d 300MATIC with a 4-liter diesel engine is equipped with mild hybrid technology. The four-cylinder diesel engine is equipped with a second generation integrated starter-alternator and a 48 Volt supply. The engine offers 195 kW (265 hp) and 20 hp instantaneous electromotor support. Apart from the brake energy recovery system, this engine stands out as an extremely efficient option with its "glide function" that stops the engine. The electrical system also allows an electric refrigerant compressor to be used for the air conditioning system.
With a new crankshaft, the stroke reaches 94 mm and, accordingly, the volume is 1.993 cc. In addition, the injection pressure, which was 2.500 bar before, increased to 2.700 bar. Two water-cooled turbochargers, both with variable turbine geometry, offer homogeneous power distribution depending on the rev band, apart from fast throttle responses. The sodium-filled cooling channels in the steel piston contribute to a better distribution of temperature peaks in the piston bowl.
The four-cylinder diesel engine also benefits from innovative solutions when it comes to purifying exhaust emissions. The NOX catalytic converter, located close to the engine, reduces nitrogen oxides. The diesel particulate filter (DPF) with a special coating reduces the amount of nitrogen oxides. Apart from an SCR catalytic converter (Selective Catalytic Reduction) injected with AdBlue, there is an additional SCR catalytic converter under the vehicle with a certain amount of AdBlue injected.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLS offers a safer ride with many advanced technologies and makes the driver's life easier.
