OIB Chairman of the Board Baran Çelik said, “The maintenance-repair-holiday periods of automotive companies that have changed this year have had a positive impact on our August figures. With the increase in foreign demand for passenger cars, we realized the highest August export in our history. We achieved double-digit export growth in all product groups.”

The United Kingdom, with an export of 211 million dollars with an increase of 297,4 percent, was followed by France with an export of 76 million dollars with an increase of 260 percent, Slovenia with an export of 174 million dollars with an increase of 185,6 percent and Italy with an export of 53 million dollars with an increase of 179 percent.

While the demand for passenger cars in European countries, which started to recover after the pandemic, increased, 89% to Germany, which is the most exported country, 123% to France, 204% to the United Kingdom, 88% to Slovenia, 30% to Italy, 35% to Spain, Poland Passenger car exports increased by 64% to Turkey.

Exports to the EU increased by 49%

Exports to European Union Countries, which are the largest market on the basis of country group, increased by 49 percent in August and reached 1,52 billion dollars, while the share of EU countries in total automotive exports was 62,8 percent. In August, exports to other European countries increased by 162% and to African countries by 47%.
