Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry brought together TOBB and Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş with the business world of Bursa. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who stated that there were great works for Bursa industry at TOGG, said, “We are building more than a factory in Bursa. We are building a technology base, not just a production base.” said. TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş said that they have more than 30 business partners from Bursa.

BTSO signed an important organization for the automotive industry. The guest of the Automotive Council Sector Meeting, moderated by BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay, was TOBB and TOGG President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş. BTSO Board of Directors and Assembly Members, Bursa Uludağ University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Guide, Bursa Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Arif Karademir, TOBB Board Member and Bursa Commodity Exchange President Özer Matlı, OİB President Baran Çelik, district chamber and commodity exchange presidents and business world representatives also attended. Speaking at the opening of the program, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay and the board of directors for the organization.


Noting that BTSO carries out important works especially in the field of automotive, President Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated BTSO for its projects for the sectors. Stating that the automotive industry is the leader of exports in Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Turkey's most important export item is the automotive and automotive sub-industry. We are proud of that too. Today, Turkey has become Europe's largest supplier. One of the most important centers of this is Bursa. Bursa has become an industrial giant not only with its provincial centers but also with all its districts. I would like to thank the provincial and district chamber exchanges for this success. They do a great job.” said.


Stating that they went on a domestic automobile journey after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called at the TOBB General Assembly, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:

“We said, 'If you stand behind us, we'll be there too. All heads of chambers and exchanges, the Turkish nation is behind us. We are realizing a first model in Turkey. 5 big holdings come together in production. For the first time in Turkey, we started this journey with 5 big companies that have been successful in their own field, where everyone will demonstrate their skills. Our companies believed in the vision of our President. We went on a long and difficult journey with our fathers. There were critics, albeit very few. There were those who said you can't, you're cheating. We took care of our business.”


Stating that all the rights of TOGG belong to Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the construction works in Gemlik continue at full speed. Stating that Turkey's Car will come off the band at the end of 2022 and will be offered for sale in 2023, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is a joint business. First of all, we look to see if there is a domestic manufacturer for each part. Our localization and second generation vehicle design processes continue. Bursa industrialists have a great job, there is a great opportunity. You should not miss this opportunity. There is a new business. This is actually a technological transformation process; electric and autonomous driving technologies in the automotive industry. Nothing will be the same." used the phrase.

BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors İbrahim Burkay emphasized that the domestic automobile project, which will carry Turkey to the world league in global competition, will also constitute the beginning of the radical transformation in the economy.

President Burkay stated that the whole world will meet a competitive Turkish brand with the vehicle whose intellectual and industrial rights belong to Turkey. Stating that artificial intelligence is increasingly coming to the fore in automobiles as it is in every field, Burkay said, “The world's leading technology companies such as Google, Amazon and Apple are now entering the automotive sector. One of the important stakeholders in the automotive industry in the new economy will be start-ups. Our technological know-how in Turkey's Automobile project will ignite many other sectors. Our industry will already be prepared for the next era with all its elements.” said.


Reminding that BTSO is one of the first organizations to announce its support for domestic automobile production, President Burkay said, “With the transformation move we started 8 years ago on behalf of the transformation of conventional industry into medium high and high technology industry, advanced technology such as TEKNOSAB, BUTEKOM, Model Fabrika, GUHEM, MESYEB have been brought to Bursa. focused projects, investments in human resources and logistics opportunities have brought Bursa to the front of 26 cities that are candidates to be the production center of domestic automobiles. By transforming its advanced manufacturing infrastructure and sub-industry into advanced technology, Bursa will make its power felt in Turkey's national automobile production in the best way possible. In this regard, the Advanced Composite Materials Research and Excellence Center, which we have put into operation under the umbrella of BUTEKOM, and our centers of excellence in micromechanics and microelectronics, our ULUTEK Technopark, will play a very important role in the development of the technological equipment of our domestic automobile and autonomous driving software. We are also ready to organize all necessary trainings for TOGG at BTSO Education Foundation BUTGEM, which carries out exemplary works with the aim of meeting the qualified human resource needs of the business world. TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş stated that the sales of electric cars and the market share have increased in the world, and that the share of internal combustion cars will fall below 2033 percent in 50. Noting that the increase in product variety and the expansion of the charging infrastructure worldwide will increase the volume and share of electric car sales, Karakaş said, “Our country has the structure to meet the increasing demand with an increasing market potential. Gürcan Karakaş stated that they aim to create a global brand whose intellectual and industrial property belongs 100% to Turkey and to form the core of the Turkish mobility ecosystem. Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association President Baran Çelik also drew attention to the importance of new steps that will make a difference in the automotive industry. Underlining that TOGG will be a part of an important transformation in this process, Çelik said, “TOGG is the most important step taken in this regard. In 2023, our domestic and national vehicle that TOGG will take out will land on the field.
