Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, which aim to promote the use of alternative and clean energy sources in the automotive industry, will be held at the Körfez Racetrack between 31 August and 5 September. Within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized by TÜBİTAK since 2005 and the High School Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized by TÜBİTAK for the first time this year will witness the struggle of electric vehicles prepared by young people, from design to technical equipment. .

Electric Vehicles Get Their Energy From Young People

While intensive R&D studies are carried out in our country and around the world on increasing domestic production of vehicles running on electricity and hydrogen energy, developing products with high added value, and battery-powered vehicles, which are the technologies of the future, the use of electric vehicles in our daily lives is becoming more widespread. The International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, which aim to reveal the most efficient vehicles from their design to their technical equipment, are organized in two categories as Electromobile (Battery Electric) and Hydromobile (Hydrogen Powered). 111 of the 67 teams that applied for the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, where all university students studying in our country and abroad can participate, are counting the days for the championship fight.

Students studying at high schools and equivalent schools in Turkey and TRNC, as well as high school students from BİLSEM and Experimental Technology Workshops and Science Centers participate in the High School Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized by TÜBİTAK for the first time this year. To raise awareness about alternative and clean energy sources among high school youth; In the competition, which aims to provide technical, professional and teamwork experience to students and to train technical support and human resources for the development of electric vehicles in our country; The vehicles they created in a single-seater and 4-wheel concept are expected to complete 65 laps within 5 minutes of the race. In the competition where 99 teams applied, 40 teams that completed the three-stage evaluation process compete to be the best.

In the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle and High School Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, teams that successfully complete the "Progress Report" and then the "Technical Design Report" during the evaluation phase are given a total of 25 thousand TL of preparatory support. In the Electromobile and Hydromobile categories, the awards given according to the final ranking in the International Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, which are held by calculating energy consumption, are worth 50 thousand TL for the first place, 40 thousand TL for the second place, and 30 thousand TL for the third place. In the High School Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races, prizes of 30 thousand TL for the winners, 20 thousand TL for the runners-up, and 10 thousand TL for the third await the teams.
