The Chinese automotive industry, which has grown steadily after the Kovid-19 outbreak, broke a profit record in the first half of the year. According to figures released by the China Automobile Manufacturers Association (CAAM), Chinese automakers experienced a notable increase in profits in the first half of 2021. According to CAAM's data, vehicle manufacturers earned 45,2 billion yuan (approximately $287,68 billion) in the first half of the year, an increase of 44,54 percent compared to the same period last year.
Previous data from CAAM had revealed that automobile sales in China increased by 2021 percent in the first half of 25,6 compared to the same period last year, to exceed 12,89 million units. While automobile sales decreased by 12,4 percent to approximately 2,02 million units in June compared to the same period of the previous year, automobile production decreased by 16,5 percent compared to a year ago and fell to 1,94 million. Stating that there was a "significant decline" in passenger car production and sales in June, the association stated that companies were affected by insufficient chip supply.
