Domestic Unmanned Ground Vehicles in the Firing Test

Firing tests were carried out with the 1 mm weapon system of the domestic UAVs developed within the scope of the Medium Class 7.62st Level Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UAV) Project.

President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, in his post on his official Twitter account, announced that the prototype racing activities initiated within the scope of the Medium Class 1st Level Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UWA) Project continue. In the post made on 27 June 2021, it was reported that after the inspection and mobility tests of the SGAs developed by the Turkish Defense Industry companies to enter the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, firing tests with the 7.62 mm weapon system were also carried out.

It was also stated that after the autonomy and performance tests, the prototype racing phase will be completed in July 2021.

Barkan Unmanned Ground Vehicle

Barkan, a medium-class multi-purpose unmanned land vehicle developed by Havelsan, was first seen in February 2021, while Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and his accompanying delegation were inspecting Havelsan.

HAVELSAN announced that it has gained joint operations capability for unmanned aerial and land vehicles during its logo launch on December 8, 2020. With the new capability brought to the platforms, it was stated that joint operations can be carried out from a single center by integrating payload and subsystems in unmanned air and land vehicles. The BARKAN IKA system was actually displayed here for the first time.
