Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Energy Erhan Arıklı tested the TRNC's domestic car GÜNSEL in the test drive area of GÜNSEL Production Facilities located on the Near East University campus and made examinations at the production facilities.
During the test drive, Deputy Prime Minister Erhan Arıklı was presented with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel was accompanied. After the test drive, Minister Arıklı and the accompanying delegation visited GÜNSEL Production Facilities and received detailed information about GÜNSEL's mass production studies and the development process of the vehicle. Making statements, Deputy Prime Minister Erhan Arıklı emphasized that GÜNSEL will pave the way for the TRNC economy.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Energy Erhan Arıklı stated that GÜNSEL is a production to be proud of on behalf of the Turkish Cypriots and said, "I hope it will pave the way for the TRNC economy." Deputy Prime Minister Erhan Arıklı said “GÜNSEL will become the most important export item of our country as our most important product that we can compete with. In this respect, GÜNSEL should be seen as a state project. As a state, it is our duty to stand behind GÜNSEL until the end ”.
Describing the performance of GÜNSEL B9 as “great”, Arıklı said, “I was very excited and happy while continuing. I would like to thank everyone who contributed on behalf of my country ”.
