The "Electric Vehicles and Electric Vehicle Charging Systems - Basic Terms and Definitions" standard, which covers the basic terms and definitions used in relation to electric vehicles and charging systems, was prepared and published by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). Making a statement about the standard, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank said, “We have prepared a comprehensive road map to build the charging infrastructure that is critical for the development of electric vehicles, especially TOGG, in Turkey. The charging ecosystem short zamWe have determined the steps to be taken in important topics such as technical standards, legislative regulations and investment supports in order to mature. This standard published by TSE also constitutes the groundwork and first step of the studies. " said.

PREPARED WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF STAKEHOLDERS

Minister Varank stated in his statement that the terms and definitions standard was prepared with the participation of stakeholders in the sector. Stating that the term and description standard will contribute to the formation of a common language in technical regulations, Minister Varank said:

A SECTOR TO GROW RAPIDLY

Electric vehicle sales have been growing rapidly at a global level in recent years. We will use more electric vehicles in our daily life in the coming years. According to our projections, more than 2030 million electric vehicles will be on the road by 2. An important part of this will undoubtedly be TOGG. More than 200 thousand public charging points will be needed to serve this capacity. In this regard, charging infrastructure will grow very rapidly along with electric vehicles in the coming years.

INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BE READY

Turkey's Automobile carries out its work in line with the determined schedule. As the Ministry of Industry and Technology, we are making the necessary infrastructure preparations together with other relevant ministries. When the first domestic vehicle leaves the production line, our charging infrastructure will support the use of electric vehicles across the country.

IT IS THE FIRST STEP

We have prepared a comprehensive road map to build the charging infrastructure that is critical for the development of electric vehicles, especially TOGG. The charging ecosystem short zamWe have determined the steps to be taken in important topics such as technical standards, legislative regulations and investment supports in order to mature. This standard published by TSE also constitutes the basis and first step of these studies.

A WELL-FUNCTIONING MARKET

It is an indispensable matter that the charging sector, which will become widespread in Turkey in a short time and reach a significant size, has a well-functioning market system. The standards and legislative infrastructure to be established are of great importance in terms of security, user rights, and the competitive environment. There is currently an ongoing legislation and another standard preparation for charging stations. Afterwards, other relevant arrangements will be made. This standard, which is currently prepared, is an important step in terms of being a base and a precursor of other regulations.

COMMON LANGUAGE WILL BE

This standard is the same zamIt will contribute to legislative regulations and conformity assessments at the moment. It will help the electric vehicle ecosystem to develop rapidly. A common language will be built in technical arrangements by ensuring that all stakeholders use the same language. In short, communication of the parties will be easier with the widespread use of the standard.
