Defense Industry President İsmail Demir announced that the new Bayraktar TB2 SİHA was delivered to the Gendarmerie and the Police with his post on his official Twitter account.
The new Bayraktar TB2 SİHA was delivered to the Gendarmerie and Security General Directorate. Stating that CATS cameras were put into service together with SİHAs, Demir stated that they accelerated the retrofitting of CATS cameras after the embargoes.
SSB Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir shared on his Twitter account: “We delivered our new Bayraktar TB2 SİHA to the General Directorate of Gendarmerie and Security. We put our CATS cameras, which we accelerated to strengthen after the embargoes, into service together with our armaments. Good luck to our security forces! " gave his statements.
In November 2020, Bayraktar TB2 SİHA (Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) B, which took off from Baykar Flight and Training Center with MAM-L (Mini Intelligent Ammunition) ammunition developed by Roketsan on its wings, was developed by ASELSAN. and successfully fired with laser aiming made by the targeting system CATS.
ASELSAN's CATS system is actively used in UAVs
Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank stated that the CATS system developed by ASELSAN has been successfully tested in UAVs and has started to be used actively. During his visit, Minister Varank received information about the electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting system CATS developed by ASELSAN. Varank, who made some statements, reminded the embargo imposed by Canada for the imported system used for the same purpose in Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs (Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), which was developed nationally and uniquely by Baykar. Varank stated that the electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting system CATS, developed by ASELSAN, has been successfully tested in UAVs and has started to be used actively.
Minister Varank stated that ASELSAN has very important capabilities especially in the field of aviation. Noting that the designed and developed systems are applied to the platforms we have, Varank emphasized that both our platform manufacturers and ASELSAN, which supports them, have done very successful works.
