A cooperation protocol on Intelligent Transportation Systems was signed between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Boğaziçi University.

Karaismailoğlu, “As the first work of our cooperation; We want to support the domestic and national production of autonomous vehicle technologies developing in the world in our country and to make our transportation infrastructures compatible with developing technologies. We will create the necessary infrastructure. "After the successful completion of our autonomous / connected and electric vehicle test studies, we will start using these vehicles in passenger transportation."

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, attended the Cooperation Protocol Signing Ceremony with Boğaziçi University. Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they will start a very important work by adding a new one to the works carried out in the Intelligent Transportation Systems of our country, signed a cooperation protocol between the Ministry and Boğaziçi University, one of the long-established educational institutions of the country, on 'Driving Architecture and Traffic Management with Autonomous Vehicles', which can be called the first in the world.

"With our investments, we contributed to the indirect and direct employment of an average of 1 million 20 thousand people annually."

Stating that we have achieved great success with our satellites in space as well as land, air, sea and railways, Minister Karaismailoğlu drew attention to our dominance over the growing and developing world and the moving commercial corridors.

Karaismailoğlu said, “Our achievements are followed by the whole world. Our contractors, who have completed large projects in our country, are doing great projects in many countries of the world. They mainly employ Turkish engineers and workers in these projects. This claim we have won in transportation and communication has had very important economic consequences. Our investments, which have been realized as 1 trillion 86 billion TL in total, have had a total impact of 2003 billion dollars on the Gross Domestic Product and 2020 billion dollars on production between 395-838. In addition, an annual average of 1 million 20 thousand people contributed to the realization of indirect and direct employment. "

"It is very important and indispensable to keep in touch with universities."

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the Transport and Infrastructure investments, which have a share of 2021 percent in the budget of 31, will reach a total of 1 trillion 555 billion TL with the projects made and ongoing; He noted that by working with both the private sector and the academic community, permanent works are built for the future of the country.

Karaismailoğlu, “You cannot act with 'daily political reflexes' or 'populism' in a field such as transportation and communication. That is why it is very important and imperative that you act with the mind of the state, do not compromise on science and keep in touch with universities. For this reason, we attach great importance to the opportunities to work with you, our esteemed academics and universities, and we try to move forward together at every stage. We are starting a very important work by adding a new one to the works carried out in our country's Intelligent Transportation Systems. We will sign the cooperation protocol between our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Boğaziçi University, one of the long-established educational institutions of our country, on 'Driving Architecture and Traffic Management with Autonomous Vehicles', which we can call the first in the world. "

"We will be a country that is followed, not a follower, in advanced engineering technologies"

Today, it will be done in the field of smart transportation systems; Drawing attention to the fact that we are ahead of the whole world in all kinds of theoretical, technological and innovative studies from academic, scientific, engineering and similar perspectives, Minister Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“Within the framework of the National Intelligent Transportation Systems Strategy Document and the 2020-2020 Action Plan, which we announced to the public in August 2023, we started the work to carry out 31 actions. With the cooperation we started today in order to achieve these goals, we will use advanced information technologies in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Autonomous Vehicle Systems, Connected Vehicle Technologies, use of renewable energy in transportation, mobility and many developments in the world, which are directly related to this field. So; In the implementation of advanced engineering technologies, we will be the country that is followed, not the follower. By using the capacity of our country at the highest level, we will produce value-added, world-class, exportable domestic and national transportation systems. "

We want to support the production of autonomous vehicle technologies domestically and nationally in our country.

Minister Karaismailoğlu, with the cooperation of the ministry-university in all transportation types; He stated that they will operate scientific processes in order to realize the mission of creating a sustainable smart transportation network that provides integration, uses up-to-date technologies, utilizes local and national resources, efficient, safe, effective, innovative, dynamic, environmentally friendly, and providing added value.

Karaismailoğlu, “As the first work of our cooperation; We want to support the domestic and national production of autonomous vehicle technologies developing in the world in our country and to make our transportation infrastructures compatible with developing technologies. For this purpose, we will carry out studies on 'Driving Architecture and Traffic Management with Autonomous Vehicles', which is the first in the world in the field of transportation. We will create the necessary infrastructure for the development of the Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems scenarios and the autonomous vehicle scenarios in our country. For this purpose, we will conduct research, development, simulation and test studies. "After the successful completion of our autonomous / connected and electric vehicle tests, we will start using these vehicles in passenger transportation." Karaismailoğlu concluded his speech by stating that they will always be with young people who produce.
