AKSUNGUR SİHA Fires with the Wing Guidance Kit

SSB İsmail Demir said that the Aksungur Armed UAV was tested with the Winged Guidance Kit developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE.

The last session of the National Technology Academy program organized by the Istanbul Provincial Representative of the Youth Foundation of Turkey was attended by the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR was the guest. Demir spoke closely during his speech. zamHe talked about the first firing test performed by AKINCI TİHA with the MAM-T, which took place at the same time. İsmail Demir, as a new news, stated that the AKSUNGUR Armed UAV, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries, was also tested on April 24, 2021. According to Demir's statements, AKSUNGUR SİHA fired the Winged Guidance Kit developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE in the test conducted in Sinop.

In November 2020, SSB İsmail Demir announced that it was fired from AKSUNGUR SİHA with TEBER Laser Guidance Kit ammunition. Demir made a statement on his social media account on Twitter, saying, “The ammunition with TEBER guidance kit was fired from a UAV for the first time. TEBER, produced by ROKETSAN, was successfully shot from Aksungur. " had included his statements.

It was seen that TEBER-82 ammunition did not have warheads in the shot from AKSUNGUR SİHA. TEBER-82 ammunition has a pocket value of less than 3 meters. In the shooting, it was seen that a parallel hit was made with pocket values.

As will be remembered, integration of the Precision Guidance Kit (HGK) and Winged Guidance Kit (KGK) developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE to the twin-engine AKSUNGUR and single-engine ANKA + UAVs developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) started in May 2020. TÜBİTAK SAGE Institute Director Gürcan Okumuş emphasized that our domestic ammunition is integrated into our domestic UAVs with our own software and algorithms and said, "This ability will be a very important power multiplier in the field." he said.

SSB Prof. Dr. In the statement made by İsmail Demir on February 8, 2021, it was stated that the new deliveries of the UPS guidance kits continue. KGK-83 guidance kits, which turn Mk-83 general purpose bombs into long-range smart ammunition from air to land and provide precise strike capability, have been developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE and are manufactured by the KALE Group.

Long Range Impact Ammunition and Kits | HGK and UPS

Developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE and manufactured by Kale Group, the UPS (depending on the speed of the carrier platform) provides high precision hit capability at a range of ~ 37 km when released from a high altitude of ~ 111 km when released from a low altitude. TÜBİTAK SAGE is developing a dual transport bay for both HGK and UPS; Thus, the ammunition carrying capacity of the air platforms will be increased.

Wing Guidance Kitis a winged guidance kit that converts existing unguided 1000 lb MK-83 and 500 lb MK-82 general purpose bombs into long-range air-to-ground smart ammunition. Thus, it gives the existing bombs a high precision strike capability up to 100 m deviation value in all weather conditions, even when they are dropped from a distance of more than 10 km. This allows the aircraft to complete their missions safely without approaching the dangerous zone.

Precision Guidance Kit (HGK) Developed by Tübitak SAGE and produced by Aselsan. Reaching 40000 km range at 25 ft altitude, HGK is the latest product of the technology that turns the existing 2,000lb MK-84 and NEB bombs into smart bombs, it is a guidance kit that provides high precision hit capability at 6.3 m deviation in all weather conditions, even when dropped from a distance. This allows the aircraft to complete their missions safely without approaching the dangerous zone.

AKSUNGUR aims to stay in the air for 55 hours

Unlike ANKA, AKSUNGUR, which has been redesigned many features such as all aircraft systems such as guidance control system, structural, flight mechanics, landing gears, engine and fuel system, caused great excitement by staying in the air for the first time with full ammunition capacity for approximately 28 hours. The unmanned aerial vehicle, which crowned its success with a flight of 49 hours, created its route in the form of the moon and star during this flight at an altitude of 20 thousand feet, drawing our glorious flag in the sky.
