In the first phase of the F16 Simulator Procurement Project of the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB), full mission simulators and weapon tactical trainers were delivered to the Air Force Command by HAVELSAN for the purpose of combat preparation training of pilots. In this context, the Air Force was provided with a unique simulator infrastructure in the world with 6 full mission simulators and 6 weapon tactical trainers in 20 different main jet base commands.
In the second phase of the project, F16 Troubleshooting Training Simulator was produced to detect F16 malfunctions as soon as possible and to activate the aircraft.
HAVELSAN engineers worked with aircraft maintenance training teachers at the F16 Technical Training Center at the Apex Airport Command, and identified the most encountered and difficult-to-detect failures among F16 failures. Around 1000 malfunctions were simulated within the Troubleshooting Training Simulator.
By connecting the simulators to each other, an infrastructure has been created for the realization of large and comprehensive exercises in a simulation environment without giving any tactical picture to the outside.
HAVELSAN Simulation is carried out within the Autonomous and Platform Management Technologies Vice Presidency. Jet Aircraft Systems Program Manager Koray Uyar said, “We help our aircraft maintenance technician students to disassemble and install the desired devices on large touch screens on a 3D modeled airplane as it is done on a real airplane, and take measurements from those points in a virtual environment. Our students take measurements from the part they disassembled from the plane, as a result, if there is a problem in the wiring, they repair the wiring, if there is a problem in the devices, they replace the devices with a new one. After this process is completed, they return to the cockpit and run internal tests in the cockpit as they really are and make sure that the fault is fixed. "
F16 Troubleshooting Training Simulator is the first troubleshooting training simulator prepared in this depth and detail compared to other maintenance trainers in the world.
