China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has posted photos of the Volkswagen (VW) ID.6 X model on the internet.
The large electric SUV of the ID series will enter mass production in China in 2021. According to Automotive News, the ministry has also published a photo of the ID.6 X model of Volkswagen's new electric SUV on its "own website." This means that the SAIC and VW partnership has obtained the license to manufacture and sell the ID.6 X model SUV in China from the relevant authorities.
The seven-seat vehicle will be produced at a new SAIC-Volkswagen factory in Shanghai, with an annual capacity of 300 vehicles. The vehicle in question will be sold primarily in the Chinese market. As with Volkswagen's other ID models, this large electric SUV will be equipped with a modular electromotor chassis. The ID.6 X will begin mass production in China in 2021.
