TAI Delivered 8th Modernized C130 Aircraft to Turkish Armed Forces

TUSAŞ completed the modernization of the 8th aircraft within the scope of Erciyes Project and delivered it to the Air Force Command.

The last statement on the Erciyes Modernization was made by İsmail Demir, President of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey for Defense Industry. SSB İsmail Demir, in his post on Twitter, stated that the 130th C8 aircraft, modernized in accordance with international voyage needs, was delivered to the Turkish Air Force within the scope of the Avionics Modernization-ERCİYES Project of C-130E / B aircraft carried out by the Presidency of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.

Within the scope of the Erciyes Modernization Project, the modernization activities of a total of 130 systems and 23 components continue with the central control computer of C117 aircraft, which was completely developed by TAI engineers and called the brain of the aircraft. In the Erciyes C19 modernization project, which includes 130 aircraft in total, the modernization of 8 aircraft has been completed so far.

TAI, which redesigned and assembled Erciyes C130 aircraft by central control computer engineers, zamGPS, indicator, anti-collision system, weather radar, advanced military and civilian navigation systems, invisible lighting at night for military missions, voice recording black box, communication systems, advanced automatic flight systems (military and civil), military network operation. It performs the modernization of critical parts such as digital scrolling map and ground mission planning systems. In this way, with the modernization that facilitates the mission capabilities of the C130 aircraft, the workload of the pilot is reduced, and a safe flight is ensured with automatic route tracking from takeoff to landing.

With the modernization, the C130 aircraft, where situational awareness has increased, has also been provided with the ability to land sensitively and safely at airports. The aircraft, in which the latest technology is integrated, has gained the ability to execute as well as digital military/civilian planning. ZamCompliance with civil aviation rules has been achieved for saving time and fuel. The first prototype aircraft was delivered in 2007, during the work initiated within the scope of the Erciyes C130 Project signed in 2014. The project, in which a total of 19 aircraft will be modernized, is meticulously carried out by TAI engineers.
