The driverless commercial bus, called Apollo, started carrying passengers in Shin Kong Square in the Yubei district of the central Chinese city of Chongqing from Monday, February 8.The first driverless bus to reach traffic in the region has Baidu technology, the giant Chinese company on internet research.
3 yuan is paid for the entire non-stop route, which is about 20 kilometers long and completed in 25 minutes. However, only half of this amount is received from passengers during the promotion period. The Apollo bus, 4,4 meters long, 2,2 meters wide and 2,7 meters high, has a capacity of 14 passengers and an autonomy of 100 kilometers. The driverless path is determined on a small touchscreen. According to Baidu's statement, the bus is the first driverless commercial bus in China that has actually been put into commercial operation on a road.
