Covid-19 Family Research from Boğaziçi University

Parents who defined their children as fearful and anxious in general made a negative evaluation of their children's feelings and behaviors during the restrictions. Parents who evaluated their emotional states negatively during the quarantine period stated that their children's feelings and behaviors were also problematic.

In the study, it was found that as the age of the children increased, meeting with friends and teachers was more frequent. Girls are more likely than boys to socialize online with relatives, learn by themselves and do housework; boys than girls did more non-educational activities on online gaming platforms and on screen.

Income level and habits were investigated

Relationships between habits and income levels were also examined within the scope of the research. Accordingly, it was observed that there were deviations in the sleep, nutrition and exercise patterns of the children of parents with lower income compared to the routine. As the income level of the family increased, it was determined that the children exercising regularly increased. It was observed that as the income level of the participants increased, they evaluated themselves better in the areas of sleep patterns, changes in income, physical health and psychological health.
