Turkey's first domestic electric generating the Metrobus and so far all electric buses carrying the flag of our country opened in the area and a new generation of environmentally friendly transport technologies winning the tender, ARUS member Bozankaya electric Metrobus was introduced in OSTIM.

Bozankaya AŞ, a member of Ankara Chamber of Industry and Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster (ARUS), introduced the 100% domestic electric metrobus vehicle in Ankara and signed a cooperation protocol with OSTIM Technical University in the field of R&D.

Attending the signing ceremony, ASO President Nurettin Özdebir, ATO President Gürsel Baran, OSTİM President Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek and Bozankaya Chairman of the Board of Directors Aytunç Günay then took an electric metrobus tour in various parts of Ankara.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, ASO President Nurettin Özdebir pointed out that digital transformation and green economy come to the fore in the world agenda and said, “Two issues stand out on the agenda of developed countries in the current century. One of them is digital transformation and the second is green economy. The enrichment of a country, the increase in the gross national product of a country does not mean the same as the development of that country. For example, unemployed growth is currently on the agenda of the Ankara Chamber of Industry. What does unemployed growth mean? The industry is growing, but in parallel, sufficient employment cannot be created. If employment increases, the sharing of income will be fairer, more equitable. The limit of people's use of certain services such as health and education, their welfare levels increase accordingly. The green economy is actually not an economy that only talks about emissions. It is an economy that envisages qualified development, that is, not only economic development, but also qualified development ”.

Özdebir, referring to the fact that they determined in a calculation that the carbon footprint of cars may be more than that of OIZs, said, “You can also estimate the emission of such a large vehicle with the diesel fuel used, especially in a city like Ankara in the form of a bowl. This vehicle is worthy of Ankara, our Ankara also needs it. Now, the agenda of the industrialists in Ankara is digitalization and green economy ”.

Pointing out that Bozankaya is a company that has manufactured more than 2 thousand subway sets, Özdebir said, “Unfortunately, when there was such a company in Ankara, we bought metro vehicles from the Chinese that did not suit Ankara. I especially want to address the administrators of our public and municipalities. Turkish industrialists have the skills and capability to produce all kinds of products, including those with advanced technology. Please leave aside the admiration of foreign products and see and claim our own values, ”he said.

Özdebir made another call to public administrators and said, “Recently, there is a trend in public institutions. They want to compete with us with the taxes they collect from us in order to be well done. This behavior is unethical. They should do whatever the duties assigned to him by law, and the industrialist should do his job. " Said.

ATO President Baran pointed out that one of the most important problems of Ankara is vocational education, emphasizing that it needs university-industry cooperation and said that OSTİM Technical University and OSTİM are very well matched in this sense.

Stating that Bozankaya company is one of the most important brands in Ankara, Baran said, “It is a company that serves local governments in many parts of the world in domestic production. About 2 years ago there was a delivery to a municipality in Thailand. Our buses and metrobuses are used in Europe. "It is very precious to us."

OSTİM Technical University Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of OSTİM Board of Directors, Orhan Aydın, reminding that 2021 was declared as the "Ahi Year" by UNESCO, said, “This year, this domestic and national electric bus, built by our ahi institution, is on the road here. Buses should come with all of Turkey, "he said.

OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yule emphasizing that Bozankaya is one of Turkey's and Ankara's pupil-tech companies, companies with R & D and university students said they have started cooperation in the education field.

Bozanka Chairman Gunay, said electric buses are currently used in 9 cities in Turkey. "In fact, our aim is to introduce the metrobus that we have used and serve for public transportation here, and to make it widespread." Saying that the biggest goals of the company are high-tech products, Günay said, “We have come to the position to export the subway and tram we have built to abroad. In this way, we both make an economic contribution to our country and we are proud to represent a Turkish brand abroad. We have done 100 R&D projects with more than 32 R&D engineers. As a company that attaches great importance to industry-university cooperation, we did these together with 14 universities. " Saying that they signed a cooperation protocol in order to carry out their R&D studies together with OSTİM Technical University, which was established in the heart of the industry 4 years ago, Günay said, "We believe that we will do good projects with the OSTİM Technical University team."

After the speeches, a protocol was signed between OSTİM Technical University and Bozankaya company in the metrobus.

Then, a city tour was held in Ankara by metrobus with the participation of press members. Metrobus also arrived at the ASO Service Building, where a souvenir photo was taken.

100% electric and domestic metrobus produced by Bozankaya, double bellows, 5 doors, 4 on the left and 9 on the right, 250 passenger capacity, 25 meters long and can travel up to 250 kilometers with a single charge.
