Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil made important statements regarding the latest situation in the programs run by TAI. Temel Kotil, in his statements regarding the TAI works within the scope of the GÖKBEY project, stated that they will start the production of 2021 GÖKBEY general purpose helicopters for the Gendarmerie General Command by 3 with a new decision.

Stating that GÖKBEY helicopters, which started mass production in 2020, will also be delivered in 2022, Temel Kotil stated that they will reach the capacity to produce 2023 GÖKBEYs per month and 24 in a year from XNUMX.

Gökbey Certification Flights

Stating that the plane, which will have a capacity of 2020 people in December 12, can be used as a military logistics and ambulance helicopter, Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil emphasized that Gökbey would be the first in his class

Kotil reported that Gökbey has been conducting certification flights as of December 2020. Stating that all conditions were tested in the flights in question, Kotil stated that this process took a long time and if necessary, the process could be extended for another 2 years. Kotil stated that the Gökbey general purpose helicopter is planned to be produced 2 units per year, 24 per month.

TS1400 Delivered to TAI

The first prototype of the TS1400 was delivered to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) within the scope of "Delivery of the First National Helicopter Engine TEI-TS1400 and Design Center Opening Ceremony".

Speaking at the ceremony, TEI General Manager and Chairman of the Board Mahmut Faruk AKŞİT thanked all TEI employees who contributed to the Turboshaft Engine Development Project (TMGP). In his speech, Aksit stated that despite all the difficulties encountered during the project, the engine was successfully developed and thus the first prototype of the engine was delivered to TUSAŞ. Before the delivery ceremony of the national engine TS1400 prototype to TAI, the TS1400 core engine was successfully retested in the presence of President Erdogan and guests.
The TS129 development engine, which was developed as part of the Turboshaft Engine Development Project (TMGP) carried out by TEI and planned to power the domestic GÖKBEY general purpose helicopter and T1400 ATAK attack helicopters, was first started in October 2020.

TEI continues its efforts to train the engine for the first general purpose helicopter to be produced in GÖKBEY. Akşit explained that they developed a much more powerful engine than their counterparts and said that the TS1400 engine produced 129-800 horsepower more than the engine used in GÖKBEY's tests and currently powering our T400 ATAK attack helicopters (LHTEC-CTS2-1014A, 100 pieces 150 kW). .
