Borusan Otomotiv BMW is the Turkey distributor of BMW Motorrad and MINI brands while incorporating the BMW Group, the worldwide leader in the premium segment 17th consecutive year vehicles.
While BMW continued its success in the luxury segment in 2020, the BMW 7 Series, BMW 8 Series and BMW X7 models reached 12,4 units with an increase of 115.420 percent compared to the previous year. While MINI sales reached 2020 units in 292.394, MINI ELECTRIC and John Cooper Works managed to become the most preferred models of MINI with sales figures of 17.580 units. BMW Motorrad delivered 20.565 motorcycles and scooters in 2020, the second best in its history.
Electric car sales increased by more than 30 percent
The BMW Group, the pioneer of electric mobility, delivered a total of 2020 electric BMW and MINI cars in 192.646, an increase of 2019 percent compared to 31,8. All-electric car sales increased 13 percent, while plug-in hybrid sales increased by about 40 percent. Electric cars currently account for 15 percent of total sales in Europe.
The BMW Group continues to be at the forefront of electromobility, with 74 electric models available in 13 markets worldwide. While preparing to launch a total of 2023 new electric models by 25, more than half of them will be fully electric. In addition, mass production of BMW's fully electric technology flagship BMW iX will be carried out at the Dingolfing plant and the BMW i4 model at the Munich plant.
BMW M has the most successful period of the last 50 years
BMW M, which increased its sales by 144.218 percent compared to 2019 with a performance of 6 units, completed 2020 as the most successful year in its history. High-performance models in the X series, especially the new BMW X6 M50i, contributed greatly to this success of BMW M. 2020 BMW M3 and M4 models realized world premieres, the Competition versions of both models will go on the road in Turkey in the first quarter of this year.
