Implant refers to inanimate substances placed inside the body and living tissues. (Dental) implants (dental implants) are generally titanium-based screw or root-shaped structures placed in the slot opened in the jaw bones to restore the function and aesthetics of one or more missing teeth. The union between dental implant and living bone tissue is called osseointegration.

Dentist Erdem Sur gave important information about the subject. Implants are screws made of titanium that are used in the treatment of missing teeth and placed inside the jawbone. A dental prosthesis is placed on these screws. The advantage of implant treatment over other treatments is that neighboring teeth are not damaged. In other words, neighboring teeth do not need to be cut. In addition, it enables the patient to have a fixed prosthesis in complete edentulous cases. The implant acts as a tooth root and you can easily eat, talk and laugh like a natural tooth.

Who can be applied implant treatment?

Implant treatment is applied to individuals over the age of 18 who have completed chin and face development. Before the treatment, whether the jaw structure is suitable for implant or not is determined by x-rays. Before treatment in diabetic patients, the disease should be in order. In those who use blood thinners, the drugs are discontinued before treatment. Those with osteoporosis can receive implant treatment after receiving appropriate treatment. If implant treatment is done in the right hands, the success rate is very high.

How is implant treatment done?

Implant treatment is performed by giving the patient a light anesthesia. Detailed examination and x-rays are required before the procedure. The jaw bones and remaining teeth are measured. There are two options for placing dental implants. In the single-stage procedure, the temporary head is attached after the implant is placed. In the two-stage procedure, after the dental implant is attached, it is covered with gums and left to heal. The prosthetic heads are then attached. In both cases, a temporary bridge is placed and an average of 1.5 months of recovery is expected for the upper jaw for 2-2 months for the lower jaw. Sometimes newly made teeth can be placed on dental implants immediately. With the dental implant, the patient can safely laugh and eat.

Zirconium implants are new generation implants made to increase the resistance of implants made of titanium. It is used to increase strength, especially in the narrow jawbone. It is no different from titanium except for durability.

Same as zirconium zamIt is also used in tooth coating. Zirconium is whiteness close to natural teeth and reflects light.
