'CE' Certification Authority to TSE for N95 Masks, Visors and Coveralls

The Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) has expanded the scope of certification activities for products that are required to bear the "CE" mark in accordance with the free movement of goods legislation within the framework of the Customs Union Agreement. TSE received "CE" certification from the European Union for particle filter masks, body protective overalls, eye and face protective visors for which it has completed its national accreditation.

CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY FROM THE EU

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, which has been declared as a global pandemic, the certification demands for N95 masks, some overalls, and eye and face protection visors have increased. Upon requests, TSE has completed its national accreditation from the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) for “CE” certification for particle filter masks, some overalls and visors. With the authorization of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services and its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, TSE started conformity assessment activities in these areas.

DEMANDS WILL BE MET

TSE with the authority of the EU; Particle filter masks, liquid chemicals, protectors against pathogenic organisms, limited protectors against liquid chemicals and protective clothing against solid particles and products that provide eye and face protection will be certified with CE marking. certification of producers that operate in Turkey and overseas demand will be met by TSA.

TSE was authorized as a "Notified Body" since 2011 to issue a certificate on the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation, which entered into force regarding products that have CE marking as per the free movement of goods within the framework of the European Union Customs Union Agreement. Within the scope of the regulation, TSE; It conducts certification activities related to CE marking for foot, leg, hand, arm and body protective clothing and some products providing head protection.

WHAT IS THE CE MARK?

CE mark; It is a health and safety sign applied within the framework of the "New Approach" created by the European Union in 1985 in order to ensure the free movement of goods. The CE mark, which was created to ensure the free movement of goods between EU member countries, shows that the product on which it is attached is healthy and safe for humans, animals and the environment. The CE mark without a quality symbol means that the product on which it is attached meets all the requirements of the relevant regulation.
