Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the citizen who was a vehicle started not to use public transportation. While the increasing number of vehicles in traffic increased fuel consumption, LPG conversion became the reason of preference with the savings of over 40 percent.

LPG stands out as the most environmentally friendly fuel among other fossil fuels. the traffic registered in Turkey 5 million people each year 2 million tons of LPG vehicles reduces carbon emissions. The world's largest manufacturer of alternative fuel systems in Turkey brc'n CEO Kadir Knitter, yesterday the LPG sector, assessed the present and the future.

Turkey is among the leading countries in the LPG sector. The use of LPG vehicles, which started in the 90s, has gained reliability thanks to the standards that are developed every day in parallel with technological developments. LPG vehicles perception in the eyes of the citizens will positively affect Turkey's steps scorer brc'n CEO Kadir yesterday Knitter's growing industry, evaluated the present and the future.

'OUR SUCCESS IN LPG TRANSFORMATION IS FOLLOWED WITH ATTENTION BY THE WORLD'

BRC CEO Kadir Turkey Knitter sector point where it is today, "In our country gained speed in the use of LPG vehicles since 1995. In the beginning, it was preferred and demanded by our citizens with the idea that it was only an economical fuel without any incentives. Increasing demand expanded the market and intensified R&D studies. We have ensured the safety of LPG vehicles by closely following the technology and applying the efficiency and safety standards applied by the European Union. Today, we export autogas equipment all over the world. The systems, stations, LPG conversion sector in our country are followed and reported by international organizations such as the World LPG Organization (WLPGA) to set an example ”.

'AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES DO NOT DISCRIMINATE LPG VEHICLES'

Pointing out that the LPG vehicle sector has developed rapidly over the years in response to the increasing demand, Kadir Örücü said, “The transformation of LPG vehicles in the 90s was achieved by adapting household type LPG cylinders, which we call 'tube' among the public, with systems that do not comply with any standards and whose infrastructure is not prepared. . Increasing demand has led to the establishment of standards and automotive companies to turn to LPG. Today, we produce conversion equipment in accordance with the ECE 67.01 standards used by the European Union. Thanks to this standard, LPG vehicles became safer than gasoline vehicles. The fact that automotive companies offered LPG vehicle options to the market in the sale of new vehicles, and their evaluation of LPG vehicles and gasoline vehicles under the same warranty contributed greatly to the reliability of the sector. In addition, the station investments made by fuel and LPG companies in the distribution network paved the way for the rapid development of the autogas sector by making LPG easy to find everywhere today ”.

'AUTOGAS BIGGEST CONSUMERS OF TURKEY WORLD'

Referring to the data of the World LPG Organization (WLPGA), Kadir Örücü said, “Our country surpassed South Korea in autogas consumption in 2018 with the number of LPG vehicles on the traffic. wlpga demand for LPG has increased by 2020 percent in 10 years in Turkey, according to the 46 assessment report. In 2020, zero kilometer LPG vehicle sales increased three times compared to the previous year, breaking a record ”.

'CITY LEGENDS RELATED TO AUTOGAS DAMAGE THE SECTOR'

Stating that the rhetoric from the years when autogas conversion took place in under-the-counter repair shops without complying with certain standards is still mentioned in the press, Örücü said that “With the implementation of ECE 67.01 standards, the explosion of the fuel tank of LPG vehicles and gas compression is technically impossible. The fuel tanks of LPG vehicles are produced from DIN EN 10120 steel sheet, which is known as the armor standard of military vehicles. The tightness in the fuel system is provided by an equipment called a multivalve. "It is not possible for the fuel tank to explode in fuel systems that are preferred by fabricated vehicles and inspected by TÜVTÜRK."

'EUROPE IS TENSIONING TO LPG'

Pointing out that LPG is the most environmentally friendly fossil fuel known, Kadir Örücü said, “The fact that carbon emissions exceed the tolerance levels of the world causes global warming, and global warming causes climate change. Unfortunately, we also see the effects of climate change in our country today. Transport vehicles have a significant impact on carbon emissions. For this reason, the European Union has imposed a carbon emission limit of 2021 grams per kilometer for vehicles since 95. The target for 2030 was determined as 60 grams. For this reason, diesel bans started by Germany started to be implemented in other countries. "Although the ultimate goal is zero emissions, the first measure to be implemented quickly to reduce carbon emissions is LPG conversion."

'AUTOGAS SHOULD BE PROMOTED'

Stating that LPG, which is considered as the most environmentally friendly fossil fuel, is supported by incentive packages all over the world, Kadir Örücü said, “Except for EU countries, incentives are applied to LPG vehicles in Algeria, Japan, South Korea, Australia and England because they are environmentally friendly and economical. taxed according to the applicable emissions in the EU countries can be implemented in Turkey. In the Motor Vehicles Tax, incentives can be applied to environmentally friendly vehicles. It is possible for vehicles with LPG to pass through toll highways and bridges at a discount. "We need support and incentives for LPG vehicles, which prevent the carbon that has been extinguished by 200 thousand trees every year, before it emerges."
