Karsan autonomous attack started production of electric

Karsan officially started the production of the autonomous technology Atak Electric, which was announced for the first time at the beginning of the year, and became the first Level 4 autonomous bus manufacturer in Europe. In the project carried out by Karsan's R&D team, cooperation was made with another Turkish company ADASTEC.

Level 4 Autonomous software developed by ADASTEC has been integrated into Atak Electric's electrical-electronic architecture and electric vehicle software. As a result, Otonom Atak Electric, Europe's first public transport vehicle with 100 percent electric and Level 4 autonomous features, started to be unloaded from production lines at Karsan's factory in Bursa. Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “We carried out the simulation and validation tests of the vehicle, whose first prototype we completed in August, at our Hasanağa factory in Bursa. Moreover, in a short time, we caught the attention of Europe and received our first order from BSCI, one of the important technology companies in Romania. With this order, which we plan to deliver at the very beginning of 2021, we will have realized the first electric autonomous project sale in Europe in the 8 meter class ”.

For over 50 years, Turkey's Karsan is located in multi-brand car manufacturer in the automotive industry, a close zamThe Atak Electric, which has Level 4 autonomous driving features that it will introduce at the moment, has been downloaded from the band. So earlier this year of the ongoing tests since, simulation and validation studies Karsan starters completed the Autonomous Attack officially Electric's production of Europe's first Level 4 Turkey as an autonomous bus manufacturer has scored a historic success for the automotive industry. In the project carried out by Karsan's R&D team, cooperation was made with another Turkish company ADASTEC. Level 4 autonomous software developed by ADASTEC has been integrated into Atak Electric's electrical-electronic architecture and electric vehicle software.

"The future is in connected and autonomous vehicles"

Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “As the share of electric, hybrid engine or fuel cell vehicles in the automotive industry is increasing day by day, we, as Karsan, offer 100 percent electric public transportation solutions. Jest Electric and Atak Electric, which we started mass production in a short time like a year, are among the most important models of our country in terms of the export of new technology in this sense. However, we are aware that this will not be limited to electric vehicles. Because the future will be in connected and autonomous vehicles. Vehicles that communicate with each other within an ecosystem will provide both cleaner tomorrows and maximum safety in transportation. From this point on, we take great pride in downloading the Otonom Atak Electric, which we started working on at the beginning of the year, from our production lines ”.

The first delivery will be made in 2021

Underlining that Karsan R&D and ADASTEC have carried out extensive work on Autonomous Atak Electric throughout the year, Karsan CEO Okan Baş continued as follows: and validation tests at our Hasanağa factory in Bursa. Moreover, in a short time, we caught the attention of Europe and received our first order from BSCI, one of the important technology companies in Romania. With this order, which we plan to deliver at the beginning of 4, we will also have realized the first electric autonomous project sale in Europe in the 2021 meter class. "

What Does Level 4 Autonomous Mean?

There are 6 basic levels of autonomous driving determined by the roof organizations of automotive engineering in the world. These autonomous levels are from lowest to high; Level 0, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5. In Level 4 autonomy, all control of the steering wheel, braking adjustment, acceleration / deceleration features, vehicle and road tracking tasks are controlled by intelligent systems, without the need for the driver, on pre-determined routes. Also at this level, actions such as turning, signaling and changing lanes, which require decisions according to the flow of traffic, are performed by the vehicle.
