An agricultural machinery innovation center in China has developed a driverless electric powered tractor prototype.

Compared to the average turning radius of 100 meters on diesel-fueled 5-horsepower tractors, the "ET1004-W" tractor set the record for the shortest turning radius of 100 meters with a 3,5-horsepower tractor in China.

The prototype was developed by the National Institute of Agricultural Machinery Innovation and Creation, bringing together engineers and talent from Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as engineers and talent from leading machinery manufacturers YTO Group Corporation and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co. Ltd. Powered by 5G cellular technology, the self-driving farm tractor can also be remotely controlled to perform multiple smart functions.
