Early life and education
Kürşad Tuzmen was born on October 9, 1958 in Ankara. He graduated from Middle East Technical University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 1981. In 1987, he received training in Liverpool Free Zone Free Zone Management for four months in Liverpool. He completed his master's degree in International Business from University of Illinois in 1991 in the USA. He attended the Development Economics Certificate Program at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
Between 1984-1991, he worked as a specialist at the Undersecretariat of State Planning Organization, Free Zones Department. Between 1991-1993, as the Head of the Department at the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade, the General Directorate of Free Zones, as Deputy General Manager between 1993-1994, as General Manager between 1994-1997, as Deputy Undersecretary between 1997-1999, 1999 Between 2002, he worked as the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade.

Having entered politics from the Justice and Development Party, Tuzmen served as the Minister of State in the 58th, 59th and 60th Governments. Tüzmen, whose duty in the 2009th Government ended with the cabinet change made in 60, was later elected to the AK Party MKYK and became the AK Party Vice President for Foreign Affairs. However, Tuzmen, whose skin cancer recurred recently, resigned from his duty.
Tüzmen, a national swimmer and professional diver, speaks English and German, is married and has two children.
