Who is Muhittin Böcek?

Muhittin Böcek (born October 25, 1962, Antalya), Turkish politician. Since 2019, he has been working as the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.

life

He was born in Konyaaltı, Antalya in 1962. It is originally Yörük. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Antalya, he worked in agricultural production and transportation sectors. He completed his higher education in Public Relations and Economics. He completed his master's degree in Public Administration and Political Science.

Political career

Between 1994-1999, he served as the Head of the Motherland Party Central District. He was elected Mayor of Konyaaltı from the Motherland Party in the 1999 local elections. He was re-elected for the same position as a candidate from the Republican People's Party in the 2004 local elections and served as Konyaaltı Mayor until 2019. During this period, he served as the President of the Mediterranean Municipalities Union, the West Antalya Tourism Protection and Development Region Infrastructure Service Union (BATAB), the Konyaaltı Tourism Education and Culture Foundation (KONTEV) Board of Directors and the Konyaaltı City Council President.

He wrote the book "I am in love with this city", in which he tells about his 20 years of political life.

In the local elections held on March 31, 2019, he was elected as the candidate of the Nation Alliance from the Republican People's Party to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.
