Turkish World Health Science Board Meeting was Held

Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca addressed the participants at the opening ceremony of the XNUMXth Turkic Council Health Science Board Meeting.

In his speech, Minister of Health Koca stated that the main theme of this year's congress was the Health Cooperation and Turkic Council Health Science Board Meetings.

Minister Koca stated that at the Turkic Council Leaders Summit, which was convened with the Kovid-2020 special agenda item in April 19 and attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a consensus was reached on the organization of a Health Ministers Meeting within the Council.

Providing information about the meeting held on April 28, 2020, Koca stated that some decisions were taken to increase the existing cooperation in the field of health, especially in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

"Our country hosted the vaccination workshop"

Referring to the Turkic Council Health Coordination Committee Meeting held on 8 June 2020 with the participation of the member countries' Deputy Ministers, Minister Koca said:

“It was decided to establish a Health Science Board and to meet regularly every month to increase cooperation in the field of health, especially in the fight against pandemics, and to share knowledge and experience.

In addition, the Turkic Council Supply Chain Meeting was held on August 6, 2020, and information was exchanged to meet the needs of the member countries such as medicines, medical devices, supplies, respirators in cooperation.

Another important issue is the Turkic Council Vaccine Workshop. Organizing a vaccine workshop within the framework of the decisions taken at the Scientific Committee meetings was brought to the agenda and our country hosted this meeting.

Between 24-28 August 2020, this workshop was held on the historical Quarantine Island in Urla, Izmir, with the participation of scientists from the member countries of the Turkish Council, with the theme of 'From Laboratory to Vaccine', and information and experience were shared about the work carried out in the council member countries.

Pointing out that they included all healthcare facilities belonging to universities and the private sector to the pandemic struggle to be used in this process, Koca said, “We have renewed the training and work planning of our healthcare professionals. We reviewed our capacity regarding the procurement process of pharmaceuticals and protective materials. We increased our production capacity. "We did not provide our health facilities and citizens with the lack of vital materials such as protective equipment, medicine, respirator".
