Last Minute: Bekir Coskun Loses His Life

It was learned that 75-year-old journalist Bekir Coşkun, who was treated for lung cancer in the hospital, died at around 20.30 today.

Bekir Coşkun, who was born in 1945 to a civil servant father in Şanlıurfa, graduated from the Higher School of Journalism in Ankara. He started to write the column titled Tenth Village in Sabah Newspaper in 1974. Coşkun, who appeared in Hürriyet Newspaper in 1987, was transferred to Habertürk in 1993. Coşkun, who agreed with Cumhuriyet newspaper in 2009, wrote his first article in Sözcü on 2010 March 14.

Bekir Coşkun, who took a break from his articles due to cancer treatment in October 2017, has been meeting with his readers from Sözcü newspaper since then as long as his health allowed him.
