Turkey's first nuclear power plant in Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) evacuation of the first power unit of the steam generator and the handling of Motion Transport Heavy Transport was completed by a total of 5 days.
Four steam generators, each weighing 360 tons, traveled over 3 kilometers to reach the site. Steam generators are considered the most important part of the reactor's first circuit.
Generators from Russia were evacuated from the ship with the aid of an 800t-capacity crawler crane and transported to the specified stock area with hydraulic equipment until the construction of the Reactor Building was completed.
During the transportation, hydraulic trailers consisting of 18 axles and 144 wheels and 600 tow trucks with 2 horsepower were used.
An intergovernmental agreement for the construction of the Akkuyu NPP was signed with Russia in 2010. The first unit of the power plant, which will consist of four reactors with a total installed power of 4 thousand 800 megawatts, is aimed to be commissioned in 2023.
