Ayşen Gruda (Date of birth Ayşen Erman: August 22, 1944, Istanbul - Date of death January 23, 2019, Istanbul), Turkish theater, TV series and film actress. Known as the beauty of tomato in Turkish cinema, Ayşen Gruda took the lead role in many Yeşilçam movies with actors such as Şener Şen, Adile Naşit, Kemal Sunal and İlyas Salman.

He died in Istanbul at the age of 23 due to pancreatic cancer on January 2019, 74.

Gruda's brother Ayben Erman, who is the brother of Ayten Erman, who is an actor like him, is also acting.

Ayşen Gruda was the middle daughter of the Erman family on 22 August 1944 in Istanbul, Yeşilköy. zamwas born in a mansion that was instantly used as a headquarters. His father was a black train driver. His talent for comedy was discovered by his family while imitating their Armenian neighbors in their house in Yeşilköy at a young age. In 1977, after 16 years of theater life, he was recognized by everyone after his character "Miss Tomatoes Nahide Şerbet" in a skit broadcast in an entertainment program on television.

Ayşen Erman met and married actor Yılmaz Gruda at Ankara Meydan Stage. When their daughter Elvan was born, Ayşen Gruda took a break from the theater for a while. This marriage lasted a long time. Ayşen Gruda continued to use her surname after her divorce from Yılmaz Gruda.

Ayşen Gruda later took part in the core cast of Ertem Eğilmez films with her close friend Adile Naşit.

Ayşen Gruda took part in musicals such as "Mum Söndü", "Ostrich Cabaret", "Hababam Class Musical", "Seven Husbands Hormuz". In addition to theater, he acted in sketches and series in many television programs. He acted in many classic examples of Turkish cinema such as "Tosun Pasha", "Süt Kardeşler", "Şabanoğlu Şaban", "Hababam Class", "Joyful Days" in cinema. He starred with Yılmaz, Ozan Güven, Zafer Algöz, Özkan Uğur, Çağlar Çorumlu, Şirincan Çakıroğlu, Tülin Özen.

Private life and death

In his biographical book "I think I'm an artist" published in 2003 by Müjdat Gezen, it was claimed that one of his old loves was Ayşen Gruda with the code name 'G.A'. Gezen and Gruda, in a joint interview in 2016 zamMoments announced that they had a love affair and in 1963 they were engaged. Ayşen Gruda informed Gezen by letter that she would marry Yılmaz Gruda while Müjdat Gezen was in the army and the couple decided to leave. Ayşen Gruda married theater actor Yılmaz Gruda in 1965. They had a daughter named Elvan Gruda from this marriage. Their 11-year marriage ended in divorce in 1976.

Ayşen Gruda, the actress nicknamed "Miss Tomato" of Turkish Cinema, who was treated for pancreatic cancer in a hospital in Istanbul, died on January 23, 2019 at the age of 74, as a result of respiratory failure due to this disease. His body was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery in the same place after his funeral prayer at Zincirlikuyu Mosque in Istanbul on January 25, 2019.
