MEB Announced! Only Preschool and 21st Grades Will Start Education on September 1

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk made a written statement regarding face-to-face education in schools, which will start as "gradual and diluted" on Monday, September 21, 2020.

“We have been watching the world since the very beginning of the epidemic process. As you all know, we take decisions in line with the evaluations of our Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee and in the light of scientific data, and we implement these decisions in the most correct way.

Almost all European countries have started face-to-face education at all levels and classes. However, we are in favor of a more controlled and gradual start in our country.

According to this; On the start date we have set as September 21, we will start face-to-face education only with our pre-school students who are already open and our first year students who need to establish an emotional connection with the school. Our first grade primary school students will be at our schools for 1 day during the integration week and 2 days a week for the following weeks. At the end of the three weeks that will pass as of September 21, we will reevaluate the process of starting education at other levels and classes.

Parent consent to start face-to-face education is important to us. If our parents want, they can make excuses for not sending the student to face-to-face education. In this case, our student will continue distance education and will not be considered absent.

At these levels, in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, the class size will be divided into groups for face-to-face education and the duration of our children's stay at school will be shortened. Education will continue through distance education in addition to face-to-face education. Thus, education and training will continue by using both face-to-face education and distance education opportunities together. The reduction in class size will also reflect on school buses at the same rate.

In face-to-face education, we take all kinds of measures on cleanliness and hygiene under the guidance of our Ministry of Health and the Science Board. Our first year students who have not experienced school life before; We will meet with our diluted classes, our education program, our non-contact games that they will play while respecting social distance, our meticulously worked integration week content and of course the efforts of our teachers who will shoulder this process.

Regarding distance education, we have a very intensive and trouble-free infrastructure on EBA Television and EBA digital platform. We give priority to live lessons in distance education, and the student and the teacher are peers in the digital environment. zamWe provide instant and interactive lessons. We also prepared game-based digital content in order to make our 1st grade students love distance education.

Our only goal right now is to bring our children together with their schools in good health and to safely welcome our children who will start school on September 21. Our teachers, our schools, we are ready for this with all our attention and devotion.”
