Seamless Travel in Partnership with Emirates and Flydubai

Emirates and flydubai announced that passengers of both airlines will again be able to access a wide range of worldwide travel options with convenient and secure connecting flights via Dubai.

Following the gradual resumption of passenger flights to destinations around the world, the two Dubai-based airlines have rekindled their successful strategic partnership aimed at offering their passengers greater connectivity, convenience and travel flexibility. Emirates passengers can now travel with codeshare flights to more than 30 destinations, including favorite cities such as Belgrade, Bucharest, Kiev, Sofia and Zanzibar, while flydubai passengers have more than 70 destinations from which they can travel with Emirates.

Making a statement regarding the renewal of the partnership, Adnan Kazım, Emirates Commercial Affairs Director, said: “In order for our passengers to reach many cities with a single ticket and integrated loyalty program, to have a safe, comfortable and stress-free transfer experience through Dubai and not to deal with baggage transactions until the final destination. We are pleased to announce that Emirates and flydubai can begin to leverage their complementary strengths again.

The partnership has passed a series of successful milestones since its inception in 2017, and in the months ahead, Emirates and flydubai will work together to enable our passengers to reach even more destinations around the world.”

Hamad Obaidalla, Commercial Affairs Director at Flydubai, said: “We are confident that travel demand will continue to increase as more countries begin to gradually lift restrictions on international travel. As flydubai, we have restarted our operations at 32 destinations in our network since June and we expect this number to increase steadily over the next few months. Dubai has implemented effective health and safety protocols that encourage conscientious travelers to travel for work, leisure or reunion with loved ones.”

Obaidalla continued: “We continue to be agile in our approach to maximize the use of our fleet by supporting the government's efforts to operate return flights and increase cargo-only operations. Our partnership with Emirates will continue to provide a smoother flow of passengers and cargo across our partner networks during the recovery phase.”

Emirates and flydubai will offer travel experiences that reflect their brands, while continuing to prioritize the health and safety of their passengers and employees, both on land and in the air. Both airlines are implementing comprehensive security measures at every step of the journey to combat COVID-19, including greater sanitation at all touchpoints and the use of advanced HEPA filters installed in airplane cabins to remove dust, allergens and germs from cabin air.

Passengers transiting through Dubai undergo thermal screening at the airport. Protective anti-microbial screens have been installed at the transfer counters at Dubai airport, and airport personnel available to provide additional support wear personal protective equipment (PPE). Flydubai operates most of its flights to destinations in Africa, Central Asia and Europe from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, providing non-stop transfers to passengers traveling on Emirates' flights to or from Dubai.

COVID-19 PCR tests are mandatory for all incoming and transit passengers to Dubai, providing an even safer transfer experience via the airport for Emirates and flydubai passengers.

Passengers traveling on Emirates flights will also be provided with a free hygiene kit including mask, gloves, hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes.

This is the same zamCurrently, it also includes codeshare flights for passengers with Emirates tickets to flydubai.

The partnership between Emirates and flydubai first went into effect in October 2017 and has been highly sought after and welcomed by passengers, who enjoy a seamless transit experience in Dubai, as well as greater connectivity and a wider range of options. More than 5 million passengers benefited from the unique city connections offered in the first two years of the partnership.

In August 2018, flydubai switched to Emirates Skywards as its passenger loyalty program, allowing passengers to earn more Skywards Miles and Tier Miles, access rewards faster and enjoy more benefits as they progress through their membership tier. – Hibya
