Who is Nubar Terziyan?

Nubar Terziyan (Alyanak real name is Nube) (March, 16 1909 Istanbul - January 14, 1994 in Istanbul) is Turkey's Armenian actress.

He completed his education at Bakırköy Bezezyan High School. He started his artistic career in 1940 at the Youth Theme Delegation. In 1949, he started acting in cinema by taking a role in the film adapted from Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar's novel Efsuncu Baba. He has appeared in over 400 films.

Terziyan, one of the rare Yeşilçam actors who does not hide his Armenian identity and uses his own name, was widely known for his roles of kind-hearted family head.

The funeral of Nubar Terziyan, who was from Büyükder, was held in the Kumkapı Surp Asdvadzadzin Patriarchate Church and was buried in the family grave in the Terziyan Balıklı Armenian Cemetery.

One year before his death, on January 14, 1993, Nubar Terziyan was deemed worthy of the "Labor Award" at the Ankara International Film Festival.

In the announcement given after the death of actress Ayhan Işık, upon using the expression “My Son Ayhan and Uncle: Nubar Terziyan”, which is Işık's form of addressing himself, Ayhan Işık's family declared that there was no family relationship. This lead to, within the framework of minority issues in Turkey were cited by various authors.

Terziyan is referred to in Sezen Aksu's song Kırık Vals.
