The excitement of the Rocket Competition organized by ROKETSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE for young people aiming the highest started on September 01, 2020 in Salt Lake.

High school, associate, undergraduate and graduate students participate in the competition, which aims to increase students' interest in the field of space technologies and improve their skills in this field, which is held in low, medium and high altitude categories. Teams in the High Altitude Category, which will be held for the first time this year, will shoot at an altitude of 20.000 feet. Rocket shots, where breaths are watched, will end on September 13, 2020.

A total of 516 teams applied to the Rocket competition, which was held for the third time this year. 82 teams that successfully completed the report evaluation stages were qualified to be finalists. 75 university teams and 7 high school teams took part as finalists. In the competition, which will continue until September 13, the teams complete the assembly of their rockets in the assembly area one day, and the next day they shoot the rockets that they have completed in the shooting area.

Competition Categories

The teams participating in the competition will design and produce a rocket that will raise a payload of not less than 4 kg to an altitude of 5000 feet, 10000 feet or 20000 feet.

Low Altitude Category

In this category, a rocket that will carry a payload with a mass of at least 4 kg to an altitude of 5000 feet with commercial engines must be designed and produced by teams, ready for launch and launched. Medium Altitude Category

High Altitude Category

Within the scope of the Rocket Competition, teams are required to prepare 4 different reports: Preliminary Design Report (ÖTR), Critical Design Report (KTR), Test Preparation Report (THR) and Fire Readiness Report (AHR). It is to perform a pre-selection according to the results of the ÖTR evaluation. The teams that are entitled to financial support will be determined according to their CDR results. After the preparation reports for the shooting, the teams that made it to the final are determined.

Finalist Information:

4 teams, including 32 high school teams, made it to the finals at low altitude and qualified to shoot.

3 teams, including 44 high school teams at medium altitude, made it to the finals and qualified to shoot.

At high altitude, 6 teams made it to the finals and deserved to shoot.

3 teams in total were qualified to shoot in 82 categories.

Except for the high school category, all of the teams are in the university category.
