Fall Semester Education in Universities Will Be Online

In a statement recently made by the Higher Education Council (YÖK), it was announced that universities could apply different practices in the fall semester of the next academic year, taking into account the regional and local course of the virus epidemic. Having published a new report after this decision, YÖK announced that it was decided to conduct the fall semester education online.

The Rector of Bursa Uludağ University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Guide stated that the Ministry of Health suggested that the classes should not be held face to face as much as possible.

According to the report sent by the Council of Higher Education to the universities, the Ministry of Health asked universities to continue their fall term education online. However, it was suggested that situations where practical training is compulsory should be postponed, if possible. In the report of the Council of Higher Education, the following response of the Ministry of Health drew attention:

“In the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, the theoretical lessons in formal education should be carried out with distance and digital teaching methods as much as possible without being in the same environment face-to-face, in the programs where practical trainings are compulsory, if possible, the applications are postponed, if possible, the use of personal protective equipment and the necessary measures are taken. it has been decided to recommend the continuation of it. "

According to the statement, the first semester of the next academic year will continue to be held online at universities. However, if the compulsory practical trainings cannot be postponed, face-to-face training will continue by ensuring the use of personal protective equipment and taking the necessary precautions.
