Car Sales In China Up 11 Percent

According to the data of the China Car Manufacturers Association (CAAM), 2.19 million cars were sold in the world's largest car market in August. In the first 8 months, 14.55 million units were sold. Despite these numbers, the market is 8 percent less than the first 9.7 months of the previous year.

The sales of cars running on new generation fuels increased by 25.8% and reached 109 thousand units. This increase was interpreted as a promising move, especially for big brands that invest in electric cars in China.

CAAM assumes that year-end sales of electric, fully electric, hydrogen fuel cell cars will reach 1.1 million units. This number is 11 percent lower than the previous year. Light commercial and commercial vehicle sales, on the other hand, increased by 41.6 percent, within the new emission rules. - REUTERS
