Media monitoring agency Ajans Press examined the numbers of news reflected in the press about traffic accidents. According to the information compiled by Ajans Press from the digital press archive, it was determined that 625 news about traffic accidents were reflected in the press in August alone. In the news analysis conducted since the beginning of 2020, it was determined that 10 thousand 477 news were reflected in the media.
According to the information obtained by Ajans Press from the data of the General Directorate of Traffic Directorate of Traffic (Trafik.gov.tr), between January and August 2020, 235 thousand 248 traffic accidents occurred across the country. In these accidents, 450 people lost their lives at the scene and 150 thousand 155 people were injured. In the accidents that took place between January and August, most of the accidents occurred with side impact, running off the road and hitting pedestrians. While the biggest flaw in traffic accidents occurred was the driver, not being able to adapt vehicle speed to road, traffic and weather conditions took the first place. On the other hand across Turkey in the period from January-August, 10 million 866 thousand 326 traffic fines were applied. 80 percent of these fines were written on the license plate.
