Who is Chadwick Boseman?

Chadwick Aaron Boseman (Born November 29, 1976 - Died August 28, 2020), American actress. Boseman was born and raised in South Carolina, the child of Carolyn Leroy Boseman, both African Americans. According to Boseman, in the DNA test he had done, he showed that his ancestors were the Krio from Sierra Leone, Yoruba from Nigeria and the Limba people from Sierra Leone. His mother was a nurse, and his father worked in a textile factory, managing the upholstery business. Boseman graduated from TL Hanna High School in 1995. In his first year, he wrote his first play Crossroads and staged this play at school after a classmate was shot and killed.

Boseman attended Howard University in Washington DC and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing in 2000. One of his teachers was Phylicia Rashad, who was his mentor. He helped raise funds for Boseman and some of his classmates to attend the Oxford Mid-Summer Program at the British American Academy of Drama in London, where they were accepted.

Boseman wanted to write and direct and initially began studying acting to learn how to relate with actors. After returning to the USA, he graduated from New York's Digital Film Academy.

He lived in Brooklyn at the beginning of his career. Boseman worked as a drama instructor at the Schomburg Junior Scholars Program at the Black Cultural Research Center in Harlem, New York. She moved to Los Angeles in 2008 for an acting career.

Private life

Boseman was raised and baptized as a Christian. Boseman was part of a church choir and youth group, and his former pastor said he still holds his faith. Boseman stated that he prayed to be Black Panther before being used as a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Boseman was a vegetarian.

Death

Boseman, who had been treated for colon cancer for four years, never disclosed his illness to the media. He continued to work during the treatment and completed the shooting of several films.

Boseman died at home with his wife and family on August 28, 2020, due to complications from colon cancer. An official statement was made from social media accounts:

“It is an endless sadness that we announce that Chadwick Boseman is dead. Chadwick in 2016. I was diagnosed with stage colon cancer and has struggled with this for the past 4 years as he progresses to stage 4. Chadwick, a true warrior, persisted against all odds to work. From Marshall to 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey Black Bottom films and much more were shot during and in between numerous surgeries and chemotherapy. It was an honor for him to play King T'Challa in the Black Panther. He died at his home, with his wife and family. The family thank you for your love and prayers, and this is hard zamWe want you to respect his private life at times. "
