Qualcomm to Sell Chip to Huawei

QualcommYou probably know that China cannot sell processors or chips to Huawei due to US bans. According to The Wall Street Journal, Qualcomm is no shame. The newspaper says that the company has obtained a presentation prepared for the US government and that the restrictions are lifted and that Huawei is allowed to sell Snapdragon processors.

According to Qualcomm, this ban does not prevent Huawei from purchasing the necessary modules. What's more, it causes "billions of dollars" US chip sales to shift to foreign manufacturers such as MediaTek and Samsung. Lifting the ban will theoretically help American firms remain competitive.

If Qualcomm is restricted and foreign competitors are not terminated, "5G chip market share could be a rapid change," says Qualcomm. In the latest income announcement CEO Steve Mollenkopf He said that Qualcomm should consider how it can sell to every phone manufacturer "including Huawei". However, there was no information about these presentations and requests made to the US government at that time.
