Konya City Hospital Starts to Accept Patients

Konya City Hospital, the construction of which was started and completed by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the public-private sector, was put into service.

Our Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koç stated that as of Wednesday, August 5, patient admissions have started in the emergency service and polyclinics of Konya City Hospital. Emphasizing that as of this week, inpatient services and intensive care transportation will be completed, Prof. Dr. Koç said that they aim to complete the moving process gradually without making patients suffer. Professor Dr. Koç stated that the appointments will start with the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) as of August 10.

Stating that they are happy to open Konya City Hospital, one of the city hospitals that our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called "My Dream", Prof. Dr. Koç said, “I hope we are starting the service today in the first phase of our hospital with 838 beds. Until the end of the year, we will continue to serve with the completed part of the second phase, 1250 beds, ”he said.

'City Hospital will take a big burden'

Underlining that Konya is experiencing an intense period in the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, Prof. Dr. Koç said: “The Meram campus of our Education and Research Hospital will continue to serve as a fully pandemic hospital. Again, emergency services will continue there. In terms of bed density and treatment of our non-COVID-19 patients, our city hospital will take a great burden. I hope that our surgeries will begin this week here. Konya is experiencing a busy period in COVID-19, but in other emergencies, our citizens will not experience any victimization. Konya City Hospital will continue to serve as the only center where only non-COVID-19 patients are treated. "

Emphasizing that Konya City Hospital will serve as a "clean hospital", Koç stated that COVID-19 patients will continue to be treated in other hospitals in the city.
'The claim that patients are transported from tourism regions is completely unfounded'

Making a statement regarding the allegations that COVID-19 patients in Antalya were transferred to Konya, Koç said, “There is absolutely no patient transfer from another city by buses or private vehicles. This is an urban legend entirely invented by those who try to strain our health system or health management on social media. There is absolutely no such thing. All our patients are from Konya, ”he said.
