Hyundai KONA Electric, the world's first mass-produced B-SUV model, traveled 1.026 km on a single charge.

Having announced that it will sell its electric and hybrid models under the name of IONIQ in the past weeks, Hyundai has signed a hard-to-break record with the current electric SUV model KONA EV. Hyundai KONA EV, which is shown as the most successful electric car by many automobile authorities, can travel 484 km with a fully charged battery, according to factory data. This range, which is determined according to the WLTP standard, has been exceeded many times with a test conducted in Germany last week. The three KONA EVs used on the Lausitzring track by Hyundai Europe technicians and editor of Auto Bild magazine have reached a range of more than 1.000 kilometers. The only equipment that works in vehicles with all electronic comfort equipment and air conditioners turned off was LED daytime running lights. Apart from this equipment, the maximum range of 1.026 km was reached by avoiding unnecessary electricity consumption. The test pilots, who spent 35 hours to make a long range as much as possible, reached a maximum speed of 29 to 29 km / h per hour at temperatures above 31 degrees, reviving urban traffic.

Regarding the record, Hyundai Germany General Manager Jürgen Keller said, “With this test, we have proven how efficient and environmentally friendly the Kona Electric is. As well as being suitable for daily use, it has fulfilled its social responsibility duty to leave a clean nature to future generations. Moreover, KONA EV eliminates range anxiety, which is the biggest nightmare of electric cars ”.
