Ring Kapıkule Railway will connect Turkey and the Trans-European Networks

Turkey and Ringed Kapıkule Railway will connect the Trans-European Networks; Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Enver İskurt, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun and his accompanying delegation made examinations at the Çerkezköy-Halkalı Project Lüleburgaz construction site.

When our line, which has a length of 229 km, is completed, the existing line capacity will increase by 4 times while the distance between Halkalı-Kapıkule will decrease from 1 hours to 20 hour and 4 minutes. It will also contribute to the development of transportation by reducing heavy land traffic in the region.

Halkalı-Kapıkule Railway Line, which will provide high standard railway connection with European countries, consists of Çerkezköy-Kapıkule and Halkalı-Çerkezköy railway sections.

It will be built as a double line, with signals suitable for 200 km speed and electrification, and freight and passenger trains will be able to operate.

With the project, Edirne, Kırklareli and Tekirdağ provinces will be connected to the high-speed train network.

With the Halkalı-Kapıkule Railway Line, an important part of the Iron Silk Road from London to Beijing will be completed.

When completed, the line will connect Turkey and the Trans-European network of high quality to each other.

The export opportunities of the industrial products produced in the region will increase, and the logistics costs that will occur during the transportation of the raw materials required to the manufacturing industry will decrease.

The project was also deemed worthy of the 2019 Inspirational Project Award in the field of "Finance and Funding" at the Eurasia Strategic Infrastructure Projects Leadership Forum in 2019.
