Who is Uğur Dündar?

Uğur Dündar (Date of birth 28 August 1943; Akören, Silivri), Turkish journalist, news programmer. Dündar was born on 28 August 1943 in Akören village in the Silivri district of Istanbul. He completed his high school education at Vefa High School. He then graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication, Journalism Institute. He married Yasemin Baradan Dündar and had 3 children.

Career

He passed an exam held by TRT in 1970 and started working as a television producer and became a writer for Official Gazette. In the same year, he attended the BBC's "Television Production-Management" course in the UK. After returning to Turkey on TRT producer, he has signed on as director on various television programs and servers.

He worked at TRT for more than 19 years. The author of Freedom in 1986, Ugur Dundar, the person who initiated the investigative television journalism in Turkey.

Uğur Dündar, who transferred to Show TV in 1992, passed away to Show TV in 1994 after Hürriyet was sold to Aydın Doğan in 1995 and transferred to Kanal D. In 2000, he returned to Show TV and switched to Star TV. He became News Editor-in-Chief on Star TV and became a Star writer after switching to Star TV. In 2001, he worked for Kiss TV and Sabah Newspaper. In 2002, he switched to ATV and switched to Star TV and became a Star writer again. Then he switched to Kanal D again. In 2004, he published a joint broadcast with CNN Türk.

In 2008, Uğur Dündar finally served as the Chief Editor of Star Haber and presented the main news bulletin. He worked at Hürriyet again in 2010.

Uğur Dündar, who has signed many programs so far, was the general director of the news program Arena. With the Arena program, which has been following the agenda of the country for years, it has received many awards.

In 2011, after Star TV was sold to Doğuş Group, Star TV bid farewell.

He also taught postgraduate courses in "Television Programming" at Istanbul University and Marmara University.

He transferred to Milliyet for a short time in 2012. Then he was transferred to Sözcü by his friend Emin Çölaşan. He presented the main news bulletin for a short period on Artı Bir TV, which he started in March 2013.

He still works as a columnist in Sözcü newspaper and prepares and presents the Democracy Arena program on TELE1 Television.
