Volkswagen Begins Mass Production of the First Electric SUV Model Named 'ID.4'

Standing out as the second model to be developed on the basis of the modular electricity platform (MEB) after ID.3, ID.4 symbolizes both the technological and financial power of the brand's MEB platform with this feature.

300 electric vehicles will be produced next year in Zwickau

Zwickau plays an important role in the e-mobility attack of the Volkswagen brand as the first factory in which a large car manufacturing facility has switched to fully electric model production. After all the transformation works to be completed this year, it is aimed to unload approximately 2021 thousand electric vehicles with MEB technology at the Zwickau factory in 300.

Preparations for the international production of electric SUV vehicles continue at full speed. The ID.4's pre-production work has already started at the Anting facility in China. In 2022, the production of the model will begin at the Chattanooga facility.
