Stating that the construction works in the Akkuyu NGS field are continuing at full speed, AKKUYU NÜKLEER A.Ş. General Manager Anastasia Zoteeva made the following statement on the subject:
“The most intensive work is being carried out on the 1st power unit. This year, we plan to complete the exterior wall construction up to +26.0 elevation. This will be the operating elevation of the main hall so that next year we will be able to install the reactor pressure vessel and start welding of the main circulation pipeline in August. These are the work to be done at the heart of the nuclear power plant. For the 1st power unit, 4 steam generators were produced at Atommash, a subsidiary of Rosatom. After these reach the site, we wait for the reactor pressure vessel to come. We will install the incoming Guard Arrester on the 2nd power unit this fall. Along with these works, other auxiliary facilities such as our construction-assembly bases, fuel tanks and tunnels are being built.
