  • Necmettin Erbakan University
  • Konya Technical University

These universities, with the joint decision they have taken, will be able to take all undergraduate, undergraduate and graduate courses in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. will be conducted with distance education explained. In the statement made, it was stated that intensive studies were carried out on different scenarios with the contributions of all academic units on how to follow the path in the fall period and the warnings of the Konya Provincial Pandemic Board about the city.

Of YÖK It was stated that in line with the normalization guide and recommendations published by it, a planning was made in a way that would not threaten the health of students, academicians and administrative staff, and the current process could be re-evaluated in the future in line with the directions of the Ministry of Health, other relevant ministries and YÖK.

The following statements were made in the joint statement:

“Current data and the course of the epidemic show that the risk will continue for a while. As of today, Konya is one of the cities where the epidemic is most intense in our country. The intensity resulting from the use of many areas related to our students such as transportation, accommodation, eating and drinking may cause the risk of contamination to increase even more. It is predicted that the pandemic may increase in the next half as the winter season, when influenza infections increase, will increase.

On the other hand, it is considered that the administrative personnel required for face-to-face training will be insufficient and the service provided will be disrupted, considering that the flexible working model is in place in public institutions (some of our administrative units have personnel caught in a pandemic, and other personnel in contact must remain in quarantine). More importantly, the health of all our academic and administrative staff, especially the students entrusted to us by their families, has been the most important issue in our decision-making. In the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, it has been decided that all associate, undergraduate and graduate courses will be conducted with distance education. It is announced to all our internal and external stakeholders. "
