Hyundai Motor Company continues to make the IONIQ model, which has made its name known in the automotive world with its electric and hybrid versions, as a brand now. Continuing its rise in the field of electric cars and the same zamAiming to become one of the leading brands in the sector at the moment, Hyundai will offer customer-centered brand new electric vehicle experiences in line with its vision of 'Progress for Humanity'.
Under the IONIQ brand, Hyundai, which will introduce three more innovative models in the next four years, will benefit from production knowledge in EVs. With the creation of the IONIQ brand, Hyundai will also quickly respond to the rapidly growing and developing market demand for electric cars. In order to fulfill the brand mission of IONIQ, Hyundai will develop existing EV criteria such as ultra-fast charging, comfortable usage features and spacious interior with the latest innovations by developing in the light of the latest technology.
The model, which was named IONIQ by combining the words "Ion-Ion" and "Unique-Unique", was introduced by Hyundai for the first time in 2016. The IONIQ, the world's first and only model to offer three different electric powertrains (hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric) in a single body type, represents Hyundai's growing commitment to sustainability and innovation.
IONIQ 5 / IONIQ 6 / IONIQ 7
Hyundai will determine the model names with numbers under the new brand and will use even numbers for sedans and odd numbers for SUVs. The first model under the IONIQ brand will be the IONIQ 2021, which will be launched in early 5. This model in the mid-size CUV segment is based on the EV '2019' concept that Hyundai introduced at the 45 Frankfurt Motor Show. Inspired by the past, Hyundai designers will integrate parametric pixels into future IONIQ models. In 2022, Hyundai will introduce the IONIQ 6 Sedan, which is designed based on the Prophecy EV. The South Korean brand will introduce a larger SUV, the IONIQ 2024, in early 7.
E-GMP platform
IONIQ brand models will sit on the E-GMP Electric Global Modular Platform, which will provide fast charging capability and driving pleasure. This EV-exclusive platform will offer a "smart living space" with unique features such as adjustable comfortable seats, wireless connectivity and a large glove box.
