T129 Attack Helicopter in Nakhichevan for Exercise

A group of soldiers and aircraft from the Turkish Armed Forces are in Nakhchivan for the exercise.

In a statement from the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, the scope of the Military Cooperation Agreement between Azerbaijan Republic and the Republic of Turkey joint large-scale flight-tactical and tactical drills were expressed to be held. A group of soldiers and aircrafts from the Turkish Armed Forces, who will take part in these exercises, reached Nakhichevan. The Turkish Air Force A400M military transport aircraft and the T129 Atak helicopter that will take part in the exercises were also brought to Nakhichevan.

The exercises will be held in Nakhichevan with the participation of the Land Forces and Air Forces of both countries. Elements to be included in the joint exercises will include military personnel, armored vehicles, artillery and mortar units, and military aviation and air defense equipment for the armies of the two countries. According to the plan, the exercises that will include the elements of the Land Forces will be held in Baku and Nakhichevan on August 1 - 5, with the participation of the elements of the Air Force, will be held in Baku, Nakhichevan, Gence, Kurdamir and Yevlah between 29 July and 10 August. .

Nakhchivan held a border ceremony for the reciprocal handover of the state flags of the two sister countries on July 27, 2020, prior to the exercises. With the ceremony, some of the elements of the Turkish Armed Forces to participate in the exercise entered Nakhichevan.
