LG Elektronics won the automotive giant General Motors Innovation Award with its P-OLED cockpit technology in 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

LG Electronics (LG) received the Innovation Award at the Suppliers of the Year Award Ceremony, organized by automotive giant General Motors 28th this year. At the award ceremony, which was organized for the first time this year, LG was among the most innovative companies for its 2021 Cadillac Escalade with the revolutionary P-OLED cockpit technology developed with LG's sister company LG Display, among other innovations.

At the award ceremony attended by more than 15 companies from 100 countries where the best GM suppliers were selected, only 5 suppliers received the prestigious innovation award. LG Electronics and LG Display were praised for the latest automotive technology and vehicle components that enhance vehicle capabilities and driving experience. LG Electronics, which has been chosen as the second valuable partner by GM, won the Innovation Award in 2016 with LG Chem, which provides innovative technologies for electric vehicle work.

The P-OLED cockpit technology in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is not only the most important part in the iconic SUV, it is also important for the first time using LG's advanced Digital Cockpit Solution in a commercial vehicle. The 38-inch screen consists of three separate P-OLED display panels, the largest of which is 16.9 inches. The Dashboard is used to display basic information about the vehicle with its three curved screens, while the Integrated Central System functions as an infotainment display for sound, video and easy navigation. LG's futuristic integrated display system offers drivers a wide viewing angle, unmatched design flexibility and a very advanced man-machine interface.

LG Electronics, which has been supplying 11 key vehicle parts including infotainment systems, instrument cluster and driving components for GM's leading electric vehicle Chevrolet Bolt EV, has been working closely with GM in different sectors since 2015.

“We are honored to be rewarded by an industry leader like General Motors,” said Kim Jin-yong, CEO, LG Vehicle Components Solutions. LG will continue its efforts to become a growing business partner with them by understanding the needs of our customers. ” Then, as GM and LG, we share our vision of the vehicle cabin by offering a state-of-the-art design product that gives drivers the comfort of home. ”
